This is some of the leafiest ground around Leicester, and it keeps us busy — the big mature trees in Oadby’s established roads and larger gardens, the residential estates of Wigston and South Wigston, and the villages running out towards Great Glen and the A6, a short run south of Leicester. Conservation areas and TPOs

Oadby and Wigston sit under Oadby and Wigston Borough Council, and Great Glen and the villages to the south under Harborough District Council. Both hold the Tree Preservation Order register and conservation area boundaries for their patch — Oadby in particular has a good many protected trees. If your tree is protected, consent is needed before work starts, and conservation-area work needs six weeks’ notice.
